Character Types in Anime, Manga, and Light Novels
In Light novels, there are usually a common type of characters that appears in a lot of novels. I will show you the most common characters type and provide an example for each. Usually if the character type ends with a dere, it would most likely characterize a girl not a guy.
Tsundere
This is the most common type character type. A tsundere will usually act all high and mighty in the outside by criticizing and hurting the character who they like. They usually act like this in the public, but sometimes will warm up to the character later in the novel. The reason why they act high and mighty is because they don't know how to deal with their feelings for the character.
Usually perceived as a cold and scary character if character have not met them yet. As the novel progresses, they will be acting more cuter. They are often perceived as cold because they use it as a mask to protect their feelings.
The most frightening type of all and the most bloodiest of them all. They are also the most loyal character to their boyfriends.
Dandere
The most antisocial and the quietest of them all. Similar to kuudere. The only difference is that a Dandere is shy and barely talks.
Yuki Nagato from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Moe
The cutest of them all. So cute that you felt like you want to hug them.
Taiga Aisaka from Toradora
(I am not into Moe characters, so this is the only moe character I know. She is also a tsundere!)
Wise Beyond Their Years
The Kid who acts like an adult. They would usually criticize the other characters with comments of how dumb the other characters look.
Victorique from Gosick
People who like Anime, Manga, and light novels.
(Please don't identify a regular Japanese person who watches anime as an otaku!)
Tomoya Aki from Saekano
Person who likes to inflict pain or harm on other characters. Usually depicted as a handsome guy or a beautiful girl
Kyouya Sata from Wolf Girl and Black Prince
I shall not name the rest of the character types because the rest are too inappropriate to talk about.
